FoAM

FoAM is an international cultural laboratory re-imagining possible futures at the interstices of art, science, nature and everyday life. 

FoAM-AMSTERDAM // is a part of the larger FoAM platform. Its has its base in Amsterdam and is co-founded in 2005 by Maja Kuzmanovic, Theun Karelse and Cocky Eek.  For the last years they explored human/plant interrelations and ways to strengthen a culture in which human and nonhuman inhabitants reinforce each other. Their app Boskoi is a free open source tool for mapping the edible landscape world wide for Android smartphones, it was presented at ISEA (Albuquerque) and received the Ars Electronica (2011) Honorary Mention.

from 2001 – 2016, Cocky Eek was an active member of FoAM Bruxelles. In close relation with scientists, technicians and media designers she did the spatial designs for responsive environments as: Tgarden (V2 Rotterdam, Ars Electronica Festival. Linz, AU), TxOom (Greath Yarmouth, UK) and TRG (Kibla, Maribor, SI).
