Kuma Guna
Kuma Guna, a project initiated by Maria Blaisse for which she developed a specific elastic foam to make a study of form in movement.
In this project I developed a series costumes with a focus on the stubborn qualities of the material. The costumes are trying to find their counterbalance of the strength of the human body. In movement the wearer is influencing the form of the costume, and visa versa, together forming a fascinating language.
Kuma Guna led to nomination Design Price Rotterdam 1997 and was presented at the Kunsthal, Rotterdam, NL
